Colder here. What's your temp? What ya burnin?

29 at 4:30 am in northeast Pennsylvania. I just loaded the indoor bin on Tuesday with 2 cartloads of red oak, and 2 of ash. I got my ATV running, so now I can use up the stacks I tore into back further on my property. And of course we will have daytime Temps in the 50s for a couple days. Hopefully I won't have to load anymore in for 2 weeks now, instead of every week. Hopefully today I can get out and split some that I have been putting off.

28/72 burning a load of red oak, elm, black birch and red maple chunks.

Low 40's this morning so I put in a bit of red oak. At noon the temps were around 60. No more fire today.

 

5 cubic ft red alder will fire the boiler just before bed , there's room in storage for 340,000 BTU's !!!
Outside temp is 5.7 C and no wind .

Small fire of cherry and silver maple. Had to evict another visitor when I got home.

 

What kind of bird is it?

 

My guess is an eastern bluebird. Not much of a birder.

 

How big was the chimney he came down?

Snowing now.

 

Sitting in that stove looking out wishing for it's freedom.......must be some sort of jailbird.

 

37 this morning. Cherry and Beech still in from last night’s load. High of 49 expected today. February 9, 2024.

 

34/71. Headed to 62 so they say. Letting the fire go out.

 

6 inch stove pipe approximately 25’ tall. I’d say he lightly swept it for me.

 

48/72 No fire today. Rain on the way.

 

47 right now. Ash. The Wood Gun only turned on a couple times today. Pine and Ash will be enough to get us through tonight. High 40s tomorrow as well.
