Brandy new Husqvarna 592 bought around Black Friday, still on its second tank of fuel. Started up just fine this evening, and was letting it warm up while I marked a couple logs. Picked it up, revved it a few times, and just as I was getting ready to touch the log it died. I couldn’t get it to fire again, so I Pulled the plug. It was wet and no spark. installed a brand new plug still no spark. I bought the saw from HL Suply. the closest dealer that I know of is 65 miles away. I don’t think they know anything about auto tunes, and I have zero confidence in them but if I need to use them, I will try. The worst part is that I bought this saw specifically to help with an upcoming job of falling a bunch of large cottonwoods. I haven’t got the call for sure yet, but it was sounding like that job would be this week. probably a two or three day project. Is there some sort of common failure on these saw that anybody knows about? Why would it just all of a sudden loose spark? Anybody got any ideas?
I would check the kill switch wiring and wires going to the coil first thing just to be sure all is in place and intact.
I have had plugs that are new and still dont work....it is rare but it happens. Best thing is to try a plug that is working in one of your other saws.
Started my 562 then pulled the plug and put it on the 592 …. Nothing! Wiring looks good, what I can see without disassembly other than taking recoil, top cover and air filter off
Used to be common for repair shops to have a coil tester at hand. We have one at my work. Did you pull the recoil and look at the coil to make sure it didn't come loose? That's a stretch but cheap enough to check. It does sound like your coil has died, but maybe the computer is involved also? Unsure about how these systems work together.
It was 1 week turnaround once my saw got to HL Supply. Very easy to deal with. I'm always of the mindset that it's something simple. Is the tank full of gas? I noticed at times the new 562 will shut off and not restart once it gets to the last 1/4 of tank. I'd also double check that it isn't getting spark in a darker area and that the plug cap is fully seated. I'd find it hard to imagine the coil died being so new but crazier things have happened.
Two other thoughts: check bolts are tight on the coil, if loose, re-set with business card. Engage the killswitch a couple times in case it was sticking down and making contact. I know how frustrating these are!
I called HLsupply this morning and got no place with them. “You have to take it to an authorized Husqvarna service provider” was the response I got from them.
Gentleman on OPE Forum is Bruce at HL Supply. I ordered my saw through him which saved me a bit of money. Shoot him a message on there. It was super easy to send back. I'm unsure if he is the owner of HL Supply but seems to be high up in the company. My local authorized dealer said he didn't have the autotune software and didn't want to perform warranty work (even though he is an authorized repair center).
