Enjoyed 40* and cur a bit yesterday. Down to 32 . Looking at the February forecast it will be manageable temperatures . cutting on shag bark and oak tree tops, that are going right to the woodshed and boiler.
30 white and red oak Warm days and cold nights appears to the trend. if it would stop raining every week that would be great.
33 this morning. Slight rain here. Burning a mix of old, very dry hardwood. Looked like Cherry and Maple.
32/63. 68 when I left this morning. Didn't reload from last night. Full load of maple in there now. Plenty of coals to start it back at least. No sun...
55*f. This is insane for end of January. There’s virtually no snow. The wind has been howling every night for a week and hasn’t froze. Been burning crap hemlock (I think) and some lodgepole. Down in hongcouver they are flooded and up here we might be in trouble by spring. Fire season might be upon us a couple months early.
Slow and low, that is the tempo. Burning 1-2 splits at a time except overnight. Sun came out for a couple hours in the evening today. 46/74.
One year ago today. Day 4 of sleet, freezing rain and sub zero temperatures. Today we were at 73*f. Weird weather we are having. Loading up the Lopi Mike in Okla
32. Just loaded some big White Pine splits in on top of a little hardwood still left over from last nights load. Light snow off and on. High of 34 expected today.
40/70 resplitting larger oak splits down except for overnight. Rained last night. Mud, mud, mud. Driveway was already a freaking mess, then delivery drivers ran onto the grass rutting it out and screwing up the water run off.
Ugh, it's terrible. @ least we have 2 sunny days coming for the weekend. Come he11 or highwater, I will get some saw time in.
45/70 junk wood to knock chill off. High 50’s low mid 30’s rest of week. Looks like down to one fire a day. At least ground should dry out.
