37/64. No fire all yesterday. Just lit up with a full box of red oak. Headed to 45 degrees today. Mostly cloudy skies predicted till Thursday.
29* here, and we have Cherry, Elm, and Ash on the spit. We picked up 3" of light powder overnight. Our youngest son is coming up in a day or so, to do some skiing for a couple days. Looking forward to that.
Currently 26f out. Not sure what it got up to yesterday but went out and did a little splitting without a jacket even. Looks like some wonderful weather in the coming days. Hope everyone enjoys it.
Like I mentioned in another thread.....You can tell it's warming up since the participation on FHC is down. Talk about "fair weather friends"
29/69, more maple. I remember trying to heat our house with an VC intrepid II. Getting up in the middle of the night to feed it and barely keep our house at 65. Now it's a load at night/morning and I wear shorts in January!
Already 48 degrees outside, and 76 inside. I put a couple pieces of cottonwood wood on just to get the temp up a bit in here. Gona be 60's the next few days, so no fires during the days for me, this week. Have a good day everyone.
Still burning some dry red oak to keep the house in the low 70's. 30's outside. Not burning a lot of wood, which is a good thing.
We broke a warm record yesterday at 8c/46f! This warm weather sure is taking a bite out of our snow pack in the Rockies but it wont disappear any time soon..... I think. A few days of wet and warm until the atmospheric river moves on. I had the good fortune to pick up some free wood yesterday. A loose tossed truck full on a 6.5 ft box. It was various lengths of splits that were very dry. Spruce, pine, fir and the odd piece of larch. Ive been looking at my stacks lately and its been painful to burn my good wood during this warm weather since I keep the low btu woods out of my stacks for the most part. Since it was free Im looking forward to burning it this year! 4c/39f right now. Ill wait until later to light a fire.
