We've had highs in the 30's and reached 40's a for a few days now, grateful but tbh it's weird, especially not howling wind all winter, just intermittent wind. I'll hold my breath till we're through Feb. It would be really nice to see more than 5 minutes of sun a day instead of the most the darker overcast days lately.

Burning a mix of Birch, Ash, and Maple.

The thing with the forecast picture is it’s not snowing. It’s pouring rain and freezing on. Schools delayed for two hours so far.

Thick dense fog outside. Can’t see to the back of my property. Letting the fire go out.

32/63 Lots of fog/mist around the area again.

House is cooler in the morning since there is no way I'm going to fire up when it's 70 at bedtime!

37° grey cloudy and a bit of fog. Snow is rapidly melting.

    Ash in the stove. 72°

Last month's gas bill was 35 bucks. That was mostly due to to the gas oven, clothes dryer and water heater. Maybe $10 in furnace use.

37°F, not burning anything. I'm going to let it burn out so I can clean the stove out. It has about 3 inches of ashes in the bottom.

A mild 40 degrees here. Just a small red oak fire to keep the furnace from kicking on.

Had a job in Grand Island yesterday so ran up to see my folks in Greeley, 45 miles north, and spend the evening and today with them. First day seeing this.
IMG_20240127_230015.jpg And I this was just a fairy tail anymore. Been over two weeks, maybe three, since seeing blue sky and a big yellow ball.
