Anyone own one? One listed locally on FBM. 5-6 years old and lightly used by a homeowner and a friend. Cant find much info on one and price. None listed on the Timberwolf site either. Any input appreciated FHC.

If it’s local I’d be checking it out!

Looks like you can buy a brand new one for about $2500?

The only one new i found was in Georgia. Plus sales tax here.

Right, if you know it's been well taken care of then it might be worth his asking price.

Looking up Georgia sales tax and you could pay anywhere from 4-9%. So up to $225 in taxes but could be just $100. So a potential savings of about $700 over new.

I'd much rather buy from a private party then give the government anymore of my money.

I’ve had one maybe 15 years. Has been good to me (Honda engine, Prince hydraulics). Timberwolf today is a different company/location/etc from the people who designed the TW-1, 2, 5 series.

I’m not sure I would sell my 15yr old machine for $2,000, unless I had a line on a TW-2HD or TW-5 cheap.

Has wear plates on the push block that I’ve replaced a couple of times. I have the 4-way, and use it. I got the table grate 7 or 8 years ago and really like it.

I’m 6’, and can’t stand (!) a short splitter. Even with this one I sometimes put a wood block under the stand to lift it.
The tray is built to move away rather than stay put and slice off a body part. It works well, but kinda balances on the tongue.
I roll mine around by hand short distances (tractor or ATV for longer).

4-way is an offset design, meaning if you flip it you get a different height. I split Goldilocks stuff with it at the higher height, with the two top splits going onto the pile, and resplitting the two that passed underneath.
