I have seen several ads here in my area for free firewood, some of it is green and some has been cut for awhile, ash boer has something to do with that. Not all of it is ash though.
No doubt, but the price this is at, it's kind of a Robin Hood thing. The people that would pay that amount don't need the money. A little redistribution of the wealth to those that actually don't mind a little hard work. In the area that this is listed, there's a lot of wealthy people that can't or don't know how to lift a finger and have no problem paying it.
When they say inflation is down what they really mean is the rate of increase has slowed. It’s still increasing and hasn’t gone down. Charge what the market will bear. I only wish I was in that market LOL. We’ll probably not,
Somebody on here was getting $300-350 for a face cord. Was that you? Not judging; more power to you or whomever it was. If I could get that much, I would too.
then the economics of firewood really sucks.[/QUOTE] I Have been burning wood for about 45 years, i know how much time and work it is, never could figure how people could sell wood as cheap as they did. But thats just me.
$300 half cord big leaf maple or paper birch+$60 delivery. $400 half cord for oak, locust, madrona or an all fruit wood plus delivery. My wood definitely looks better than that. Seattle area and it sells no problem.
