    Good stuff.

I have one piece left that I am using as a stand for an anvil.

I just put two more splits of 7 year old SBH in the Englands. Sure does pump out the heat.

I lost a nice straight one in a storm this summer it broke halfway up. Gotta get around to dropping it and bucking it before summer.

Do you remove the limb piles Greg? Had a discussion with a buddy who was helping me clean up some trees/tops. He was adamant about piling the debris. My method involves getting the wood out with as little effort as possible which means all the slash is just tossed to the side/out of the way. He asked me why I didn't pile it up. (looks more 'neat') Explained that I have no plans to remove or burn off the slash, so being scattered low to the ground means it will disapear much faster than a pile will. I will show him in a couple more years where his piles are still standing and the rest of the brush has since rotted and decayed into the forest floor.

Sorry, your pic just brought it to thought.

In dense part of woods I just sort of cut and flatten out brush and let it lie

but this was in clear area so I piled and will burn after it’s dried out

I’ve done both methods. I guess when I pile stuff, I’m thinking maybe some critter will call it home, but it definitely entails more effort to do so.

More or less the same MO here. Ill even go as far as cutting the brush smaller to disperse it even more rather than just big limbs.

I usually only pile when I have no alternative or I'm using the slash for 'fill' off the side of a trail or something. I do believe the piles can be beneficial to wildlife, though I've never really noticed any critters hanging out/around the piles. Maybe they've seen what happens to the ones I make down on the fire pit? lol
