We have 6 grands also.

 

Good morning everyone! Last day of the balmy weather thank God! The damp weather makes my joints ache. What we are going to get is mild compared to what the Midwest is getting.

 

Good soggy morning, members.

Heavy rain over the past several hours. More to come. Possible 2" total. Area water bodies are full, rivers over flood stage. 40⁰/55⁰ A low wood burning day.

I hope to go for a walk mid-morning, after some indoor this-n-that.

We were supposed to go out tonight to a family diner, but Mrs MikeInMa came down with a cold. Dinner is postponed.

Good morning. It is starting to feel more like winter. Got a serious arctic wind howling down from Canada this morning. Coffee, dry wood, and a hot fire in the stove is the ticket!

 

Good morning, ya'll. Hope ya'll have a SUPER SATURDAY. 42°, light breeze this morning. Had more rain last night, clear today. Customer is coming to pick up a load of hickory this morning. Truck bed cover came, gonna finish installing it.

Thanks all...and yes grandkids are so much more fun!

Getting some nasty weather this weekend so of course its a perfect time to go out and play in the snow.

To make my hauling splits in from the stacks through the snow easier, I started using an old plastic sled as a wood hauler.

I decided to increase the capacity so I did a little conversion project.

I used salvaged fence boards for the box then attached it to the sled with a few screws. I used some fender washers to keep it from breaking through the plastic.

Worked well...and tripled the capacity of sled.

 

Afternoon all. Clear, cold and windy this morning. Temps down around 16 F. Front door weatherstripping was frozen. As we only get about three or four days of freezing weather each winter, it wasn't very high on our to do list. It does need replacing.

Jesus came to the Jordon River where John the Baptist was preaching. He requested to be baptized. "What!" said John. "I need to be baptized by you instead."
Here was the Son of God, the Messiah, requesting baptism. Jesus was wearing a physical body of sin and inherited our sinful nature but was himself without sin. He needed to set the example for us. For us to declare publicly that our old self of sin was buried in the waters and to rise up out of the water a new person in Christ. To make known our commitment to follow Jesus, accept his gift of salvation and follow in his path of righteousness for us.
Wonders of wonders when Jesus came up out of the water, light from heaven shone around him, God the Father's voice was heard saying "This is my beloved Son" and the Holy Spirit in form of a dove alighted on him. An anointing and blessing on Jesus' mission to save us.

16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3: 16 - 17

He obviously isn't too bothered by the cold outside from his comfy office chair
