If i would've left it and it did ice back up, that makes for a fun ride down to the road. I've had it in the past where it's like the vehicles on rails. Luckily there's enough flat before the road to stop!

Scotty Overkill did you guys get washed out with yesterday’s storm too? Almost 3” here. IF that was snow, maybe it would have been apocalyptic??
And more on the way for the weekend. :hair:

Reminds me of a song we played for the kids when they were little. The chorus is fitting..

When we were teenagers we used to build snowmen in the road and hide in the woods waiting for someone to drive by. Theyd either hit it and send them flying, or stop and try to move them and usually get stuck LOL We had a few people chase after us but they never even got close.

There is a possibility we might get between 6 and 12 inches in the Fri. Sat. time frame. That will go well with below zero temps.

We got an additional 7" of snow yesterday before it turned into a monsoon. I'm guessing we got around 2-3" of rain on top of that snow, I spent all evening yesterday and today cleaning 3" of heavy slush off the sidewalks, deck and patio.

Which reminds me of a story a teacher told me back in elementary school. You'll like this one!

When he was a child, the town he lived in a a viaduct. It crossed over the train yard. As kids, him and his buddies would roll large snowballs (snowman sized) and lift them to the edge of the railing and wait for the steam locomotives to pass underneath. Then, they would roll them off the viaduct aiming for the stack of the locomotive!

One day, the locomotive would draw near the "bombs away" zone but stop short and then reverse. This went on a few times disappointing the kids each time but teasing them enough to keep them waiting for another chance.

Next thing you know, they were grabbed by a couple of train yard workers from behind. They had snuck up on them while they were waiting for the locomotive! Those workers laid the kids on the ground and began stuffing snow down their shirts and jackets until they couldn't fit any more!!!

    Lesson learned. :handshake:

Ha! I had a stick shift GTO with a bench seat. Friends used to ask "Why not bucket seats?" I'd answer that it has it's benefits!

I had to go to Pittsburgh in that mess. The whole way from Seven Mountains to almost Johnstown was a disaster on Route 22/I-99. I'm just glad I had new tires put on the rig 2 weeks ago otherwise I don't think I would have gotten up Cresson Mountain. It turned what is normally a little over 3 hour trip into a 5 1/2 hour trip. Even coming back part of 22 west was shut down on top of Cresson Mountain. Fortunately I was able to jump off at Ebensburg and get around. I don't want to have to do that again for a while.

My best friend had an older Rambler in high school. The front seat folded perfectly flat to the rear seat!

Put the tire chains on my X-Terra today which I use to plow, rear axle only but I also have a set for the front axle as well. We were promoted to 9-15" of snow today in NE Iowa followed by below zero temperatures. Hit the food store today and plenty of wood inside (sugar maple, slippery elm, shagbark hickory, bitternut hickory, white ash, all six years inside(a long lost end of a row...)) but I do not mind bringing in wood in a snow storm since all my wood is inside our shed. We like white winters and it is about time winter arrived...

A guy had chains on both axles while driving over a glacier on TV with my size tires, and I decided I would match him....

Yeah, it's looking pretty decent storm wise. Crazy winds then single digit highs Sunday and Monday with negative lows

It isn't. But it's been a while for storms like this to strike here. We also had a few years, like 3, of student drivers that never had to take a road test. Seriously. They finally just ended that loophole, and go figure, about 50% of the new kids that have to take it, are failing.

Are you up around Rogers City or Alpena? That looks like the greatest probability for massive amounts of snow. Here in Manistee County, they're predicting 6"-8"
