Started pushing snow at 4am at work today. Came down so fast I couldn't keep ahead of it. Kinda purty in a way though.
We only had about 5”-6” here in SW IA where we are. Had a report of around 11” & still snowing over to Chelsea.
We probably did get 10 to 12 inches. Hard to say for certain with all the wind and drifting. I did make it home after work. Left around 2 because of deteriating road conditions and it was not a fun trip. Was actually pushing snow with the Honda CRV on our gravel road and in my driveway. I'm with you. The snow doesn't bother me much but the older I get it seems the cold gets stronger. Maybe the cause of me losing strength is that energy goes to the cold air?!
The guessers are calling for another 4”-7” here Thursday & Friday with heavier amounts farther east Ronaldo & Mark should almost be done shoveling out about the time it gets here. Butcher where are you located at in Iowa ?
I think your body is working harder to regulate your temperature in the cold, and being older, that's hard work on your body.
5 Reasons You Feel Colder With Age 1. Your Circulation Decreases 2. Your Skin Is Thinner 3. Your Metabolic Rate Decreases 4. You Have an Underlying Medical Condition 5. It’s a Side Effect of Your Medication Lets face it.
Nw Iowa here. Were sitting at about 18" this week and the winds have died down a bit now but are suppose to pick up again. Possibly 50 mph later.
Probably another 6 to 8 inches here but really hard to say because of 30+ mph winds that are just not going down. Drifts are 4 or more ft high. Made it out to feed the livestock this morning with the Bobcat but will need the clearance of tractors by tomorrow. I haven't seen a storm and snow like this for many, many years. Funny We closed up work at noon so I tried to drive down to Menards and Fleet Farm but ended up turning around as they had pulled the plows. Tomorrow...Tomorrow
