Don't matter to me. I'll still be using what ever is cheap because I don't cut more than 15 to 20 cord a year . I do like this young guys channel.

I don’t have that harvest king brand near me, but I’d give it a try. I mostly use TSC’s county line brand, but I’m running that Husqvarna oil right now and I’m not impressed at all. Stuff is like molasses in the cold.

I don't have harvest king around here either. Don't know who sells it. We have added a little diesel to our bar oil up here. I never use to add diesel until it got below zero, but the new saws don't oil as well, so I find myself using diesel more often in winter.

Ive chainsaw milled planks that were over one full tank per cut. I don’t smoke the bar/chain…

but I can confirm, motor oil (or something w/o tackifier), slings off long bars and doesn’t carry much back. Been there, done that.

I didn't watch the video, but winter blend used to be common around here for cold temps. I think I even have a jug. It will prob last forever because there is no way you catch me out cutting in zero temps. :fire:

I have 12 gallons of Echo from when it was $10-$11 per. $27 is highway robbery. I’m disappointed it didn’t perform better. Currently using up my last gallon of X guard.

:DI actually like to cut in the cold. I can work harder for longer, and the sap is down when felling. As long as I can feel my hands and feet that is.

Unless you are trapping. Then there are ticks. Yuck. Oh, and no mosquitoes, horseflies, and tourists.

If you hate ticks you’d love bed bugs. That’s some nightmare fuel right there.

I have run the Husqvarna stuff in the past until the price got nuts. When it was only $1-2 per gallon more I figured the name brand stuff would have to be better. But now I’m a Charlie cheap ash and use whatever is a good deal (price) when I spot it.
Yeah the Husqvarna stuff I used was super thick in the cold. Like STP thick!

TSC used to carry Harvest King but now have switch to the name Countyline, which I believe is the store brand. Whether they are having Harvest King making it now on a rebrand, I do not know. I've being using Cam2 from Rural King, another farm store in our area. Normal price is $9.00/gal and they do put it on sale for less so I buy cases then. Even if it did wear my bar out a little quicker, it would be hard pressed to make up the difference if the oil was more than 2 times the price/gal. I cut about 90 cord this year so tend to go through cases pretty quick.
