Well, we have had 4.5 inches of rain here since morning (would equate to 45”+ of snow):hair: 56* now so no sledding for us! The water came down so hard that it did overrun our lane so first chance I’ll get the tractor out and smooth her down again. Supposed to have winds gusting to 50 mph but hopefully that doesn’t happen or we’ll have a lot of pine trees up rooted.

I stopped at the hardware store and got a rain shovel for the current storm!

2-4" of rain forecasted with some good wind.

Here's what we got overnight. Super heavy, wet stuff.

    Here's what's left this evening.

    Couple turkeys this morning.

Sounds like we might get some more but it's been raining most the day.

We got a good 3-4" of super heavy wet snow. It was a pretty heavy rain this am, so we would have gotten a lot more snow if the lake was a little colder.

I'll snowblow here in a bit, but it's supposed to snow another 1-2" until like 3 am. I don't want the wet snow turning to ice. I'd rather run the snowblower a second time than deal with ice. Friday's snow is looking like even more.

If what just went through here makes it up to yall and it's cold, yall are gonna need dozers and rock quarry loaders. Don't know how many inches we've had, but there's water on top of water. Meteorologist on TV just said in his 20 year career, he's never seen such a huge flash flood warning area. And we're in part of an even higher elevated flash flood warning within that....labelled considerable, or something like that.

For us, despite all the hullabaloo, it was a normal winter day in Wisconsin. Pretty wet stuff, yes, and heavy. But not much re: actual volume/accumulation. Nothing a decent snow shovel couldn’t handle!

ps yes, we need to paint the deck rails.

Starting to snow now. Strong wind and rain tomorrow. May be widespread power outages again.

The ride home tonight was treacherous. Heavy rains coupled with gusty winds made going over 55 out of the question. Seems to be calmer now, and the rain will be wrapped up completely by sunrise.

I came home tonight down a mountain road in 40 mph winds and 4" of snow blowing sideways. I had her in 4WD and the snow actually helped keep the speed down. If you can't/don't stop at the bottom you go into the brook. Much more fun than video games.

All we got was a dusting and it's pretty much all gone now in nw wi. The rabbit waters have a little ice around the edges but pretty much open. The little bunnies are hopping all over.

Total rabbit population now is up to 29, with more expected saturday and next friday!

I think back to my younger days and we always were made happy when it snowed or drifted. Busting snow drifts was one winter fun time!

Yes, well we had cars/trucks made out of metal then. If kids tried that now, they would be sitting in their seats with pieces of plastic on the ground all around and the snow drift still intact after impact. Another reason we had it better growing up.
