Living in a city, you have to permit everything. It’s brutal. I take advantage of it by scanning the online public notices for tree removals in my area. I’ve never had any type of beech before, so I’m excited for this purple beech (aka copper beech).

Contacted the tree service people, and they said I can have the wood. Looking forward to picking it up Monday.

Later on Monday, the University of Washington is going to beat Michigan in the nat’l championship game. This tree is very close to UW’s stadium.

Also in this picture is the UW boathouse, which plays an important part in the movie that just came out “The Boys in the Boat”. Great book. I haven’t seen the movie yet but heard it wasn’t amazing.

But that’s not all! Also in this pic is the western end of the longest floating bridge in the world! The 520 - Evergreen Point Floating Bridge.

That’ll be some great BTUs for you  I’ve heard European beech can be difficult to split, similar to our native American beeches.

Hay JiminyKicket , I’m form Sioux Falls where UW head coach Kalen DeBoer played college football and coached. I actually played against him in college. He’s got a great story, very very few coaches ever make it out of the NAIA to coach at higher levels, let alone division I and playing for a national championship. Everybody in the area is cheering for UW!

what’s the over/under on how many times the announcers will say UFS/university of Sioux Falls ?

He’s probably the most popular person in the PNW now. The stories about retaining players, relationships with coordinators, etc are impressive. UW is lucky to have him.

Underdogs week after week after week—it’s a fun team to root for.

It sure is. Both coordinates go all the way back to USF, and it sounds like the QB he played with at usf is coming next year.

Beech down and bucked by the time I got there. No two rounds are the same length. I should’ve brought the van, because our SUV has very little Sport and even less Utility.

Not much in the end, but still fun for me and good BTUs in 2031.

Longer lengths on top of scrounged bluestone to redo the front walk.

    True.

Plenty of asterisks to go with that. I hate cheaters. John and Jim harbaugh are from Mequon WI, literally the next town away from me. Their parents still live there. But I have zero respect for Jim. John seems like a stand up guy. We know who got the good genes. Lol

    Nice score!
