    Hello All,
    Happy New Years!

I just picked up this brand new STIHL MS291 20" this morning from a local power sports dealer of STIHL products. After some consultation from a local to me FHC member, buZZsaw Brad (thanks again Brad !!), that's what I got. I had been eyeing this model online, and as luck would have it, STIHL was offering for the Northeastern section of the US a Special until the end of December...... Free carry case, replacement chain and hat (approx. $100 value).

Congrats Ed. Always a plus saving money and getting some freebies too.

May it serve you well. Looking forward to seeing pics of it in action. Now get out there and cut some wood! :saw:

I feel like any saw over $400 should come with a free hat. We obviously will support our saw mahufacturers of choice, and they get free advertisement. I prettymuch demand a free ball cap from places I've bought Equipment and dirt toys from as part of the deal. LOL Hey, I just gave you $XXXX monies...think a $20 hat will sink the business?

Not a lot to work with, but I did get to fire it up yesterday. It felt great!!! A major improvement from an old green chainsaw I had been using. saw01062024.jpg

Very nice! Which dealer did you get it from? My guess is CT Power and Sport.

Heated my home for years with an 029 and a 290…older versions of the 291. Then I got on this site and next thing I knew, I need a bigger shop to store my chainsaws. The 290 still sees action occasionally and the 029 does firewood duty for my father in-law in Mexico. Good saws. Congrats on your new saw…should last you a lifetime.

I bought a 290 right after I bought my house in 2011. With my needs, and helping friends & family, it's cut over 5 cords a year every year since then. It's not the fastest saw, and it's not the lightest saw, but it starts every time. With a sharp chain it does everything I need.

Nice! I think buZZsaw BRAD owes me a split of Black Locust for my correct guess.

I did a small job off Schoolhouse Rd last week and noticed that wood still on the corner of the back entrance to Oakdale. Also a nice little honey hole of BL down in the culvert there.

Yes i did stop to check it out! :emb:
