Looking for a brief freezing rain in the morning. They are going to brine the roads twice today for a brief freezing rain?

Caved in and put the plow on yesterday. Driveway looks real good once again.

22 outside. Warm inside. Boiler was down to 88 degrees this AM though. I burned a bunch of wet wood earlier in the week when it was warmer and the damper got stuck shut with creosote. Quick clean this AM and I'm back in business.

Was 69F in the house when I got up. Nice full overnight burn of maple and mulberry. Was something like 25F overnight last night.

Still saving the oak for if it gets cold.

39 brought in some white oak to survive the possible freezing rain. Weather channel is hyping power outages for NC. I don’t see it getting below freezing.

It was 22° here this morning. Thats pretty cold for SC.

Backed the 3/4 ton military "wood hauling" trailer up to the door under the carport.
We are supposedly on the edge of the temp. band here in South Carolina.
We might get some ice, maybe just cold rain.

Kinda chilly in the house this AM. iirc, it was 59ºF at 6AM and the oil boiler had come on.
    need longer burns now.
I don't like the house as warm as I used to, especially at night. But I don't like burning a lot of HHO either.

The way our house is configured, when the living room is in the mid 70's the bedroom will be in the mid 60's.

Mostly hickory burning in the Fireview. Gotta remember in the morning I was burning hickory. There tends to be an exciting spark show when I open the stove door for loading.

After burning some maple last night and some fir cookies this afternoon, I burned down some coals with a 2" split of pine.
    And then reloaded with pine.
