Been above freezing since Saturday. Windy since Sunday. Not sure what I’m burning, it’s very old logs from the mill yard I work at. I can rule out everything else except hemlock so that’s what it probably is. We get very little of it and don’t have a grade stamp for it anymore so that’s what it gots to be. Don’t care for the smell of it but it’s not too bad. I can cut and split it and down the hatch to the furnace room. I’ll try to get some pics tomorrow after work.

Lake was making all kinds of sounds yesterday evening and throughout the night while it was making ice.

That and some (bar?) extremely loud music from the north end for some time. Seems like I'm going to have to live with this during the winter months too???

42 overcast and damp for what feels like the 147th day in a row. Burning black cherry, red oak, yellow birch scraps, and a little Kentucky Coffee tree courtesy of buZZsaw BRAD :handshake: who once again hooked me up with an oddball species I wouldn’t have scored otherwise.

Yeah im getting tired of this myself. Not fun conditions to make firewood in.

Did the KCT have a nice coffee smell when burning?

TTBOMK thats the only time ive ever encountered it around here. I still have the cord of HL with KCT mixed in stacked in back at storage. Gotta be some good wood as it was CSS Summer 2020. Have a customer for it but cant access due to the squish.

46 headed to 50. Just burning evening fires lately because a constant burn makes it too hot inside. Finally have some sunshine this morning. My yard is mostly like walking in a wet sponges. :(

Not bad this morning, about -8C/17-ish F but looks like we'll drop back to somewhat normal frozen wasteland weather in about a week or so. Pine for breakfast.

30 With Maple and Elm mixture loaded this morning. They say 32 for high today. This season has been very mild temperatures so far.

Left the LP on duty last night as the guest's baby had cold arms yesterday morning. Didn't want to cook them out with a wood furnace fire....
