I am sort of thinking about building a wood heated sauna. Do any of you guys have a wood fired sauna?
Did you build your wood stove, or purchase a factory one?

I thought about building one from scratch. Or converting a small regular wood burning stove, like a small Fisher or something. I know some have built them out of gas bottles, or an old pressure tank.

I have one. It is only 6x10 feet, but big enough for my family. It is built into my garage. I just welded up a box and put a door from an old wood stove on it. I have another little tray that is tacked onto the top on the inside of the sauna to hold river rock. I love mine. When we get out, I just leave the sauna door open to heat the rest of the garage. Sometimes I don't even need to build a fire in the garage itself.

    Camber,
That sounds pretty much like what I had in mind, except mine would be a stand-alone, out back, separate from the house.
