Merry Christmas to all! It's 32*, and we let the fire die down to coals, it's pretty warm in here. We had light snow flurries all day that gave us a thin dusting, so we have a White Christmas!
We got 8” of snow today. I just finished plowing our driveway - and the driveway of a neighbor who broke his hip in November. It’s -2 F degrees at the casa. I brought out the big guns tonight. Burning Ash and Apple. 74 F degrees in the house. I’d better get to bed. I think I just saw Santa fly over Merry Christmas, teammates! Love, Cash
33 and the Wood Gun is out. I shut it off when I went to bed last night. Going to give its good cleaning sometime today and fix a seal around the ash pan drawer. Have a little leak around it. Going to 43 today. Merry Christmas Hoarders!
37/66. Just started a fire with red oak. Winter is finally starting to move in here in Ok. The last week it’s been in the 50’s and 60’s. Loading up the Lopi Mike in Okla
48/70 - We let the indoor wood furnace go out yesterday because the weather is so warm. Today we are burning the fireplace. A few years ago we started a tradition of burning the previous year’s Christmas tree on Christmas morning. A nice load of Fraser fir, ash and cherry for ambiance today. Merry Christmas to all!
Still holding on to decent weather here, about -11C/12F this morning. Pine chunks heating the shack. Merry Christmas from us and the Chew Crew
48 My son’s fiancée has requested no fire so I have obliged. Apparently not everyone enjoys a good sweat while opening presents.
38/65. Just lit with pine kindling, 2 splits of RO and 1 big chunk of chestnut oak. Very heavy fog here.
32 and bubblin goo burning. Fixed the seal on the ash pan of wood gun yesterday. Going to clean the chimney this afternoon when it’s warmer (going to 46) and the lower roof is not slippery to walk on. Then I’ll be back to burning firewood.
52/69 No fire. Not working at today either its nice to have 3 days off after working 6 days a week for a month and a half.
A nippy one here, was around -18C/0F overnight. Puppers came back with frosty beards after their morning tramping. Pine and more pine.
42f here in the Cariboo. Woodwidow how long was your power outage? Was very windy yesterday but no loss. Horsefly had no hydro for 12 hours last night.
Well, this is a change. 32 outside temps! Who would have thought? 66 inside. Probably wait till mid morning to build a fire.
42 raw and drizzling. Burning a mixed load with one split of ash, one of black cherry, one of red oak, and a couple scraps of yellow birch and white pine.
