It rained all day today. The overnight lows are forecast to be record high. I’m liable to end the winter with a full shed. I brought 4 trailer loads of dry reject sawlogs the past two weeks and there’s several that can go straight into the furnace room. Last year this time it was-35 c. I forgot to take pictures of the loads. Musta been too excited to get on the backhoe and get unloaded after work.
30/67 just reloaded with elm and cherry. Might be the last fire for about a week if the weather guesser is right.
the weather dude here on tv just said we might hit 55F Christmas Day that’s ok with me i can’t remember it being that warm here on the 25th
We are supposed to get a blizzard Christmas Eve - into Christmas Day. I’m pretty stoked about it. I just hope Santa can find our house!
32 and clear. 73 oak working. May hit mid 50s this weekend. Last year at this time it was freezing, we lost power and with the power, water. But we were warm . Fun times.
18. Pine, Birch, Cherry mix. Last night load did well. I just went out and plugged the tractor in. Going to put it to work today.
We have family coming up from TX and they were hoping for a white Christmas here in WI. ole and I are in the same general area. Looks like family will just have to try again next year. 38/75 - 1/3 cottonwood, 1/3 ash, 1/3 mulberry leftover loaded this AM on nice ash coals from 0300. Immediate secondaries. I like this burn a lot. She’s very warm with nice long legs. I’ll have to remember this formula. Will have to sub cherry for mulberry in the future, so we’ll see how that goes.
Milder temperatures and off and on rain. Last two nights the house was too hot so we let the fire (Doug Fir) die quite early today. I have run into a number of Madrone splits in the area of the shed where I have been loading the wheel barrow. This is a premium firewood in Western WA so I have been setting it all aside anticipating colder temps further into the winter when the wolf is at the door!
39 and climbing. We’ll probably let the fire die out tonight. The house got too hot with a load of ash and cherry. The ash was a bit less punky than the stuff I was burning earlier in the day, and boy did it ever make a difference! Whew!
