Incredibly mild winter here, both temperatures and wind, many(most) of our previous 9 winters we are -20* this time of year without wind and lower with wind. What a treat. Lacking precipitation but it's an arid area and no human landscaping where I am. Burning pine and supplementing with pellet stove.
Shoulder season won’t end. I still got a year’s worth of SS wood to burn. Brought two loads of mill rejects and there is 3 more. Sorry no pics. There’s another 3 loads. I don’t burn hardly any of it. I have a couple old fellas that come over and load up.
30, came downstairs and it was 55*. Was away until 9 last night and didn't really have a hot fire before bed. Hoping the oak will get temps back up before I leave for work.
38/70 with just a small fire this morning. One split of red oak, one of elm, and a couple pin cherry skinnies.
Hovering right around the freezing mark all night, and warming a few degrees through the day. Starting to feel like I live somewhere warm wayyyyy south of here! Average high temps for right now would normally be around 10-12 F on a good day. Pine chunks for breakfast.
Rained a litle overnight and it is still raining. What little snow that was around is going to be gone by days end. If the ground dry's this coming week, I should be able to get more work done outside.
It's been pretty warm here. We've had like 3 days of 50° or better in December so far. 41° out now, raining out burning ash. 73° inside. The furnace has really not run at all this whole month. The only reason would be if my wife wanted it a little warmer when she's in the office during the day while I'm away at work.
Not even close to a white Christmas here. Heck, I can’t even cover my strawberries for the winter yet. Loading up the Lopi Mike in Okla
35. Cherry, Ash, Maple for the overnight. Should be 49 and raining by supper tomorrow. Hopefully I can get home and light a big ol pile of brush or three before it starts to rain too hard. Calling for 1.5-2” of rain Sunday evening into Monday evening. Crazy on December 17&18. But. Glad that won’t be 18-24” of snow!
