how many people here are running one of those? That white and carbon fiber colored 372 is tempting. Are they really even worth messing with

 

I've heard good things about them. There are several guys on other forums that run them . I built one from one of their kits a few years ago and it runs really good. The earlier ones had some issues with a few subpar parts. They have gotten a lot better nowadays.

 

I have one of that style 372 clones.
It was very smooth running and had good powah.
I think it's got a bad coil which I believe is a known issue on the 372 clones, so I haven't ran it much.

 

The only issues I had with mine was the decomp popped out on every pull, replaced with oem. It would quit oiling when on its side because the oil pick up tube was too stiff to stay down in oil. It oiled like a mad dog otherwise. Replaced that with oem. The starter rope was junk and broke after a couple months. It's always started good and has plenty of power. It will pull a 24" bar fully buried with ease, mostly noodling.

Took down 2 multi-stemmed Bradford pears for a friend yesterday. The XS2511T & XS4910 got the call. He got a nice pile of wood.

Definitely some seriously hard wood. Never burned any myself. Looks like it’s up there with hickory! Thanks.

 

The only thing I found with beech is that it'll leave heaping piles of coals you'll have to burn down with some "lesser" woods. Other than that, it throws excellent heat.

 

We like burning Bradford Pear, but dealing with all of the knarly limbs/branches sure is a PITA. Next time I get one I’m going to borrow my sons PTO chipper

 

I didn’t realize Bradford pear made good firewood.

 

Burns pretty quickly and hot….nothing like oak but have also smoked Boston Butt with it. Mild smoke You won’t get a large volume of wood unless it’s a big old tree though.

 

I thought about smoking butts with it but I was afraid to try it. I just put a bunch of it on my burn pile from trimming my trees. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, a couple guys on AS keep pointing out all my loose chains, so I decided on a preemptive strike strategy....lol

The oil fill is above the 2 cycle fill? BTW, I couldn’t help but notice that your chain is slightly on the loose side. Might want to snug er up.
