Today's forecast 45"F and sunny almost no wind. Perfect day for splitting until about noon when then the ground thawed enough to make it mud. Now its just stare out the window at the logs
Here in South Central WI, the ground was finally frozen enough so as to avoid mud the last couple days (hence the flurry of wood processing activity at Casa TSL). I freakin’ HATE working in mud. I don’t mind cold/snow at all, so long as I wasn’t a dingus while choosing my work attire.
If there was an award for volume of splitter trash produced here Joe you'd win it hands down. I couldnt get over how much from that cord of TP we split.
It was like that here the other morning. In the 20's overnight but the sun and temps above freezing turned the ground into banana peel mud.
Me either. That Tulip was cursed. I expected almost no trash. Hickory runs thru the splitter easier than that Tulip did. Working on a nice bed of cushy noodles now tho. Lay down and take a nap anytime I want. Gotta love it
No mud or even any frost here, its been 40’s - mid 50’s during the day & upper 20’s - low 30’s at night. Unseasonably warm & dry here. 3”-4” of snow in Nov. but it didn’t last long. Unfortunately, no time for firewood making though.
