The Lonely Round

Had a couple things to dispose of at the dump. Spied this lonely round by the brush pile. Dead elm cut is some dense stuff when dead.

 

Find it some friends and have a party inside a stove.

 

You took it right? If not, did this come on the radio?

 

Is it split and stacked yet?

I thought a single bullet had been found.

He'll slip it into a stack of rounds belonging to Sirchopsalot. He loves to split elm.

 

I have a bad feeling that one lonely round is still out in the cold, sobbing like the dog at the animal shelter that didn't get adopted.

 

He must still be outside trying to break that thing

 

About 3 weeks ago I met Brad down in North Haven to pick up some PT lumber. On my way home I stumbled on a single roadside elm round and brought it home. Noodled that sucker into 6 pieces and called it a day. No sense in struggling to split it green, or waiting a year for half the stringiness to go away.

 

You do crack me up Brad. That is a good thing.

 

Must be something in the water down there

 

truth! Its not easy being me!

 

Dropped at storage today. Had to split it to satisfy my curiosity. Hydro grunted on the halving but no problem after.

I knew that round found a new home. No way Brad would leave it alone, suffering in the cold.
