My garage computer did that a few months back and hasn’t worked right since. I’m not really sure what to do about it so I shut it off when I’m done now. It happened after a large update on that computer.

I hate updates...half the time it fixes a few things, most of the time it screws up stuff that you had the way you wanted it! :hair:

Good. I was thinking of you yesterday and wondering when would be the best time to call. I hope you are doing well Pete.

MS has been doing all kinds of changing things. I have all updates turned off. Wouldn't you know, they over ride this and update anyway. This will probably be my last desktop that uses MS.

Sounds like the exact same thing that my laptop had decided on doing beginning a few years back. Still better than the alternative. Planned obsolescence?

No big, no deal. Probably best to become a bit more patient anyway!

The issue is that my modem verifies thru my computer. My work computer has to verify thru the router that is connected to the modem. If my home computer is in a state where it can't communicate then my work computer doesn't connect. And no, I can't can't make the work computer the main - major DoD violation even if they didn't have systems set up to prevent that.

Nothing has worked so far, I'm a bit ticked at this issue.

bogieb I feel for you. Any updates from MS messes with my settings. Right now I have to work off my laptop as the hard drive died on my desktop. The frustrating thing is the where ever the curser is sitting when I pause in the typing is where the typing starts again. I hate using a touchpad so I guess the laptop is fighting back against my wired mouse. I also found that MS updates usually eliminates access to my Adobe Reader so I end up using Edge.

When she can’t get mom she calls me. I answer and all she says is where’s mom.

Well I’ll be on the road to Antwerp Ohio for a job early tomorrow and on the way back later in the day. 3 hours each way roughly if you want to call. Otherwise afternoons mostly. :salute:

Had to roast the UPS guy. We have a camera or 2 around our house and I frequently catch him standing flat foot on the ground and heaving whatever he is delivering onto the deck which is 4 feet off the ground. Packages bouncing off the house and all. He comes, I walk out as he was walking up the steps. I say, what didn’t you just throw that one. He lies, I don’t throw your packages. I point to a camera over my shoulder, want to rethink that one? No I just slide them. I point to a camera beside him. You still trying to chit me? Probably last time he delivers anything here, most likely find it in the road or something but don’t just lie to me azzwipe!

I just don’t get why he felt the need to just lie to me after I told him everything is recorded. When I offered to show him videos he said he had to get to the next stop and didn’t have time. I don’t know if he’s one of the seasonal workers or a part timer or what but don’t trash my stuff.

    Predictable.

Instead of admitting to it and saying it'll never happen again, he went on the offensive.

It lets you know what a person is made of.

Yup pretty typical from the type he seems to be. Thing is he isn’t young, he’s probably close to 60.

Drove to Antwerp Ohio for an install job today and then back home. 12 hour days used to be easy  I loaded the stove back up and flopped down like a fish out of water in my recliner.

Hope your all having a good night or day depending on where your at.
