When is that forecast for? We are supposed to get a rain snow mix here in Northeast Pennsylvania today into tomorrow.
Talking heavy rain for us. Haven't checked forecast since last night but they say it's coming. 4 inches + of rain possible last I heard.
Supposed to be 2 inches of rain in our area today before changing over to 2-5” of snow overnight. Supposed to be done by 10 or so tomorrow morning.
This one doesn’t qualify for a blizzard in our area anyway.perhaps Molly was referring to a storm prediction sometime in the future?
I'll post that same picture the next time a CAT-5 Hurricane is barreling down on Florida! Make sure you have a piece of plywood for every window Molly!
Some of you should come down to my neck of the woods and watch the fun we have down here! The Nor-easters make Hurricanes and Blizzards look like Childs play. What I like about a good blizzard is hearing the people whine when the power goes out and their whole house is "ELECTRIC"!!!! That's right boys and girls, Lets see how well those SOLAR panels and wind turbines are working now?
Not bad here at all, we are actually 13ft above sea level and I'm 9 blocks from the Bay. The problem lies is the barrier Islands and most of their "HIGH" areas are only 3 to 5ft above sea level. The storm surge and the wind killed most of the beach towns. As said, I'm on the bay side but the West wind BLISTERS us hard. People don't realize the EVERY drop of rain is supposed to run off into the oceans and back bays, all the out fall pipes go to the ocean. Now, when you have a tidal/storm surge and the rain pounding the shore, then add 50 to 60+ mph winds for 2 or 3 tidal cycles, well... I think you can guess the out come! Here s some snips of a few Nor-easters here on the shore. Many always remember the hurricanes, but Nor-easters can be worse, they last much longer, sometimes days....
Here; snow 2-4” Storm 8” Nor’easter 2 to 4 feet!! With wind Good luck on the move miz Molly Midwinter Enjoy your new adventure.
Any of those folks who live up in say, Cape Cod, Rock port or Gloucester mass, Down east Maine know what a good Nor-easter is!
Im sure you guys remember "Nemo" in February 2013. We got over 36" of snow where we were. The town next to us had the highest total at 39" IIRC. Ms. buZZsaw and i were stranded in her apartment for four days.
Yeah, them nor’easters are like an every week occurrence up here. You’re going to be getting a better taste of it in New Hampshire. Tomorrow forecast up to 70 mph coastal. 55 inland. 2-4 inches of rain. Good thing it’s gonna be near 50 out.
Yup, I should have pointed that out, basically anyone on the coast say in 50 miles. The low lying areas are the ones that really get pounded. I'm lucky on this side of the Cape. For those who doesn't know what the Southern tip of NJ looks like from the air, Here's a mile high shot/picture. I'm on the far West side/left about 3 miles up from the tip. Just North of the Canal that cuts lower township in half. This is why we are pounded by Nor-easters... The far right is the Atlantic ocean. Notice the barrier Islands, they get hammered real bad!
