True. My other thought is battery saws have a lower RPMs. He mustve been pushing real hard on the saw to have it go that deep.

The gent is/will be fine. Luckily he missed any artery or bone. He has actually been up moving with a walker. Believe it or not!
He is going to be very sore for a long stretch. No tennis anytime soon.....

How he was hanging on to the saw is beyond me. Guessing kickback/pinch of some variation got him.
I know better than to critique. Stuff happens.
This is a nights/weekends stove operator.
Not a 24/7 burner like many of us.
He does have a nice PE Super insert/liner as of last fall. Or was it the fall before? Can't recall!

Lord only knows how that one happened! I have an uncle who's severely accident prone, like you seriously never want to be within 10-20 feet of him with any kind of tool/implement or anything really. Maybe this guy is like that?

That gives me the chills just looking at those pics.
I was looking at the x-ray very carefully and could not see any bone fragments and even at skin level where the saw went in, I see no tearing of the skin, and how deep it went in.
I would say one in a million accident. So did not hit the bone and it must have gone straight in and not jumped around any. Wow.

I cannot figure out how he did that. I will say that power tools and ladders keep me in business, in my line of work. Weekend warriors :picard:

It does happen sometimes. I’ve been on shootings and stabbings with zero external blood loss. The human body is a pretty amazing thing.

Ha ha. No. A trauma surgeon would take him into surgery and carefully and slowly remove it. You can do a lot of damage removing an item like that.
