Christmas present to myself. 15% lighter than their regular light weight bars. These have been out for a couple years now but havent seen them available and seems the ones ive found only fit a Husky saw. I laughed when i got the mail last night as it was sticking way out of the mailbox...20" bar. Anyone else have one? IMG_4402.JPG IMG_4403.JPG IMG_4404.JPG

    Nice!

I've been running a couple of the regular light weight ones for some time now, they are great bars.

Soon's I'm as rich as you, I wanna try one in the premium variety.

  Im rich all right...rich in wisdom (more like BS)

They arent a lot more their regular light weight bar.

I have a 24" one that came with my 400 when i bought it. Dont often run longer bars though. This one should get used a lot. I was swapping the other 20" bar among the bugger saws.

I was checking these out at the Bunyan show. I am needing 24 & 28 light bars (my needs gotta wait till after Christmas). I kindof prefer the look of the non-premiums. What are the differences between the premium and the one Sawdust posted? Obivously the price...how much lighter, etc?

Also...heard that Husky's light bars are actually Sugi's. Unconfirmed.

Says the premium is 15% lighter. I weighed it compared to the new Stihl light weight bars (with the new graphics) and only a few ounces. I wanted another 20" as i get tired of swapping the other between saws when i use them.

    I'm with you on that.
I don't care for the look of the premium either.

What about the strength of that thing. Is the middle just plastic filled?
If so, I would think the durability has somewhat gone away.

They are very distinctive compared to the solid resin that many lightweights now have. Keep in mind this is coming from a guy who was super stoked to get my hands on a couple NOS bars that say Total on them. lol

The Stihl is a few ounces lighter or the Tsumura premium is?

Easy fix , ported smaller saw with lighter powerhead that makes the same or even more power.

    No light bar required.

At this point these bars are just a want for me, as the (1) 20" bar and (2) 18" bars I own still have plenty of life left. I think this spring I'll splurge and get a light 20" bar. If they last that much longer, it's well worth the extra coin in my book.

That's kind of a Marketing blunder to me, those new stihl 3003 bars aren't any lighter than a rollomatic bar they replaced but they are labeled as "light bars".

Nice! I have the older Tsumura bar in 28" Stihl flavor. That premium looks to be lighter still. Let us know how you like it.

IMG_1511.jpeg The dark gray on this and another identical 36” bar is paint. Up close you can see that it has several of the plastic/resin inserts just like a regular sugihara.
seems to me on a bar this size there’s room for at least a couple more inserts, but I ain’t no engineer.
