So I had to help with this job. All oak very large trees around 40” so one guy got five loads to heat this winter and the over got two. So everyone got what they wanted.

F2A33360-F1CA-4856-8855-8CDFB0461B93.jpeg I don’t see a problem here. Get all the EAB ash you can, because you will miss it when it’s gone. I’ve been squirreling it away myself and the non hoarders never understand why anyone needs so much wood.

My neighbors think I’m saving for the apocalypse. They see me hand splitting when they know I have a hydro splitter. One asked if I was having a midlife crisis as they head out to the gym.

Nope, just doing what I enjoy.

Nice work MNWoodMan. Check the local going rates and sell some. Recouping some dough for your labor, fuel, etc. is always a nice feeling. Let us know what the result is. I’m always curious what the going rate for firewood is in different areas of the country.

A lot of people around here buy their wood. Very few cut trees down or get wood from their back yard. People hear seasoned wood and they think it’s ready to burn but the moisture is probably above 25

Yes the word seasoned is grossly abused among firewood sellers. We prefer the term dry here and i use it in my listings when i sell firewood.

I chuckle when customers ask if the wood is ready to burn to which i reply:
"if you cut a tree in your yard and turn it into a piece of firewood its ready to burn. How well it will burn is the important question."

I didn't reply to the FB post, sent the prospective customer PM, that he didn't see...:picard::picard::picard:

Around here a face cord is selling for about $75 if you pick it up. $85 delivered if nearby. If it’s truly seasoned, higher quality BTU, they get a little more. Lot of guys selling Ash now because of EAB.

Got it all stacked, had used a friend’s hydro to split it all in a weekend but it’s done. I took my saws out of the truck and disassembled the for maintenance. Let the bar and chains off so I would not be tempted to just grab some wood when I see it. Well give this a try to help with my poor decision making process. IMG_3153.jpeg IMG_3146.jpeg
