Got this insert tonight. It's aruora brand. Ratedfor coal and wood. Made in 1990. 8 inch flue and it had a catalytic combustor in it. This stove is really really rough. Rusted to hell, combustor shatteredd. Door bent. This is gonna be my garage stice. My neighbor gave it to me for free. All I gave in return was 6cubic ft wheelbarrow full of some good seasoned wood IMG_20231120_195343.jpg IMG_20231120_195350.jpg IMG_20231120_195400.jpg

    Oh boy.

Just FYI when your shop burns down there is not a chance in hell your insurance is going to cover you.

I feel moved to login and post. My post was not nice and certainly not productive. I think I see some problems with the install, but nothing that justifies jerk behavior.

We have all said things before our brain kicks in. BUT I will have to say it is not the ideal or safest looking set up. Safety has always been the utmost importance at FHC.

My insurance won't cover a outbuilding with a wood stove in it.

I know this is far from code gentlemen.
This stove will only have small fires in it when I'm out tinkering in the garage. It will always be babysat while it's burning.
Where the chimney exits it is blocked from the west wind. The smoke rises up that back of the cinder block wall. Has about 6ft to combustistibles on the outside. And on such a short chimney its not drafting hard so I'm not worried about sparks flying out of chinmey
