Thank you for the welcome. Trying to get it all in amidst new floors, trim, and 2 bathroom remodels/updating. Fingers crossed it'll be before or near Thanksgiving.

Cant wait to see the setup. Englander makes a good stove. Only minor complaint I had about mine was the air control. It was hard to really cut it down below about 50-30% without smoldering the fire. They do like to run hot so dont freak out if you see STT of near 600.

For sure and I agree that they are a clean burning, hot burning, clean glass, stove and I have no qualms about regularly running up to 750 stove top temps and holding it there as you should be able to do with any welded steel stove. 800 is a max that some companies publish so leave a little head room for that.

Per the owner’s manual of this and most plate steel stoves, everything is cool until you see outside parts of the stove glowing red.

To get less output from an nc30 you’ll need to run full cycles where the fuel is almost gone between reloads and/or only load a part load. Or even let the fire go out when it’s too hot.

I have the opposite problem, I want even more heat!

One more thought, if you want to run it hot and since you already mentioned the thin paint, rustoleum high heat black paint does not stay black at these stove temperatures. The 1200 rating is bogus.

nc 30 here, I wood not go beyond 700 at the middle of the small step in the top in front of the flue ( does the 32 even have a step? ) at 800f you might start to warp a few things. Got to remember that when the secondaries are rolling in side the stove that's around 1100-1200 deg F possibly more. There are times with High winds on mine that I have to choke the secondary input down ( my flue is over 25ft tall) as just closing the control all the way is not enough damping. Course being mid WI it gets somewhat colder than MO. That said 95 % of the time the stove heats the whole house into the 70's ( 2200 sq ft) even when it is 20+ F below zero.

What are the differences between the NC30 and the 32?

I believe the latest version (32) has no leg option.
    No blower option.
    Removable loading door handle.

NC32 has four ceramic fiber baffle boards instead of two on the NC30.

NC30 was made by englander, englander has been bought by SBI so the same folks that make Drolets. So the NC32 is an SBI product.

It is now...but when they switched from the 30 to the 32, it was still Englander...

You got my curiosity going with this statement....

I wonder if anyone ever put an extra pair of baffle boards in a 30? Of course this could screw with the draft I suppose.

The two boards in my nc30 (side by side so one layer thick) have hunched up into a bananna shape and are actually wearing out. It's about 10 years old and when I run it, I run it near the top end of it's narrow output range. I'm hoping SBI can provide replacements cheaper than what englander tried to charge. Four boards, two layers, makes it easier to stagger the sheets and block the gaps.

Yep, there was a brief period where englander still made the NC32 but that is no longer the case.

The NC30 was always a pretty clean burner, testing at 1.4 gpm as I recall. Cleaner than my princess at the time.

Mine did the same but flipping them did the trick. I just thought it would be an interesting experiment as long as it didnt restrict the flow too much.

The "Ceramic" boards on Amazon are better and about half the cost fyi.
