Just gifted this one. Looks to be in decent shape and original bar. Little signs of wear

Not too bad. This was from my co-worker/woodcutting buddy.
Lets just say he collects stuff ; lots of stuff. How about too much stuff.

It is in decent shape for the year , looks like 1967.
I hope I can tear it down and clean it up and get it back together without touching the original paint.
The couple parts in needs look like they are out there so maybe a winter project, it's on the list anyway.

Still looking for something older (1950's)to restore completely and put it on my office shelf.

Very nice. Did you get that predator running yet. I think you will like it. They run very good. Here is my craftsman version of it. Like you, I had the intention of fixing and selling it. But I like it too much to sell now.

 

It has a scored piston. Not deep but across the whole exhaust side. A bit of aluminum transfer on the chrome bore. I have a new piston kit on the way. I'll probably port it while its apart.

 

Too hot to hunt deer. Cutting on some red oak with the XS7900. The sapwood is so dry it kept plugging the oil holes on the bar.

 

I like the Husqvarna flippy caps. I have them on my 6100.

 

I’ve had the saw a year and a half and the gas cap started leaking after about six months. I still have the original oil cap in the saw, no leaks. The husky caps are great.

 

Sawed down a hickory & bunch more dead oaks today.

Clearing some shooting lanes down by the pond. I don’t get the pole saw out all the time but it sure is handy.

 

She running better with a proper carb adjustment?

 

Yes but I wasn’t running too bad to begins with. The cheap eBay tool made out of chinesium, split at the tip after I adjusted it last year.

The weed eater on the other hand was wayyy too lean. The rpm was ok when the string was all the way out. But when it has anything less it was bouncing above and just below of the Max rpm. The old tool wouldn’t adjust either anymore.

Old Ebay special. It’s made of an alloy if you would imagine made of 50% zinc and 50% American cheese.

The pole saw and the weed eater have the same engine but the pole saws max rpm is 11,250 and the weed eater is 10,300. Weird. Both have a cat in the muffler, I removed the cat in the pole saw entirely. It was a total headache and took me a couple of hours to get out. On the weed eater I just hogged out a big hole next to the cat. It’s like 90% of the benefit with 10% of the work.


they both run great now. And if I need to adjust them I can. Thanks again.

My original Amazon chicom tool wouldn't fit those style of adjustment needles. It was supposed to but nope. The Walbro unit fits perfectly.

I've removed a couple Echo cats. They definitely are a pain.
