Finally cleaned the chimney!

Got it done today. What a messy job!
The chimney trap was filled with years of the former owners junk. Had to dig that out, but got it done.
Long story short, "this space is clean!".
I figured last years contribution amounted to a coffee can and a half. That was with not fully seasoned Ash as a fuel.

He took 'em, but the lens probably was covered in creosote and ash.

 

As long as the brush handles are nice and sparkly when I get them back

My wife was disappointed that there was no singing and dancing on the roof from the chimney sweep.

Seriously, I had a broken garden claw that I used to chip away at the chimney trap. The handle was red when I started, but it was a perfectly black handle when I finished. I wonder where the red one went?!

I'm enjoying a well deserved Leinenkugel's.
I dont know what was worse, sweeping the chimney or taking the shower afterward.

 

It's easier to go to bed and let all that crud wipe off on the sheets, then just wash the sheets.
