Load of hackberry. Tossed out with some silver maple staging for splitting, should have close to 2-cords plus 1.5 of honey locust and mulberry ready for splitting. A lot will go in totes for Bunny to sell.
Last heaping load of ready-to-burn heading to my uncle’s. Some 3 year old red oak heart wood splits, some 12 month dead ash, and a bunch of 2 year shorts and chunks of yellow birch which my aunt will appreciate loading.
Cord of oak that we delivered on Friday........ hopefully I'm not beaking the thread rules with loaded (trailer) pics...
Haven’t seen a score on Craigslist in years. Red oak. I should be deer hunting but this is too good to pass up. Got done just before dark.
One decent load of dead/barkless and surprisingly mostly dry ash, heading to my uncle’s. I’m cleaning house in my backyard and didn’t want to hang on to this.
Nice and clean! That would have been a nice one to mill. It makes nice boards. Almost too nice to be firewood.
That was the original idea getting these logs, but after cutting into them I saw they were more mealy than I wanted. Only the very center would’ve been decent lumber, and I didn’t want to go through all the trouble for a few sticker-sized boards.
Had some myself that were a little past their prime as well. I cut out what I could and the rest became firewood.
I dunno man, I'm on a mission to clear out the back of the woodyard. Have lots of rearranging to do in the spring between the addition for my splitter, and getting the last of my older piles gone so I can put new ones running in the same direction as the stacks under my woodshed. I want uniformity. Don't mind bringing more home, but I'm being picky. Still deep in oak mania here The half punky ash will be put to better use at my uncle's house anyway. He's got around 5 cords between his 2 large holzhausens but one is fresh cut from this spring and the other one is only about a year old.
More dead oak, and a big old hickory with a hole in the middle. The first pic is mostly white oak, dead & dry.
