    Just got a load of wood from chip drop. I am pretty sure the whole load is Oak but for the life of me I cannot place what type of Oak it is. Thanks in advance. Pics attached Wood Pic 2.jpg Wood Pic 1.jpg

    Looks like Pin or Willow oak to me.

    Yes I agree with willow or pin. Bark has me leaning towards pin.

    Thanks for the replies everyone. I have worked with Red Oak and White Oak before but could not id this stuff.

    Looks pretty similar to the pin oak I recently processed for my dad.

    I would agree that it looks like pin oak.

    Definitely pin oak. Probably doesn’t smell wonder huh ? I get a lot of it. Good enough wood tho !

    Pin oak. The most pungent of the oaks IME.

    Pin is a red oak and they do look alike. Smoother bark is a give-away as are the leaf. Maybe the scent too.
