Since he says you'll never catch him at home, I would move all the wood to his front door when he's not there. Yes, more work for you, but the thought of his face when he saw it would be worth it.
Most people whither at face to face confrontation. You don’t even have to be mean or violent. Just, “hey Jim, the other day when I had a chance to count the money you gave me, i realized you shorted me $60” Trust me, he’s counting on you not coming back for a confrontation!
You're welcome to come over and do mine....I think I have sixteen plugs, so it sounds like $40.00 is the going rate.
Last time we drove to Beaver county PA it took 11 hours I’ll bet your a lil further. Might be worth the 40$ But unfortunately my tools don’t work on Dodges!
T That sounds like something I would do. I told a guy the other day if someone done something to anyone in my family I would let em stew on it awhile. But I would do stuff to them for awhile to let them know I was serious. Like live a note on the milk jug in the fridge or when they raise the seat to pee I'd have a note there that said 'I could have gottca". Lol
Check arrived in the mail today for the balance. I'll be changing things going forward to prevent the mistake. 3 deliveries this weekend.
Don't feel bad. I built a wood shed for a guy I have done work for in the past. He has always paid me the agreed price. My son helped me level an area and put up a carport and we got shorted $200. I immediately told him it was not the amount we agreed on and he said he heard a different price. We agreed the difference would be added to the wood shed bill. Well, the wood shed was built, and I even paid for some of the supplies, and he claimed we were ripping him off and taking advantage of him, that his band made an error and they were working on it, that he was having health issues, and that he was on retirement income. Meanwhile he drove out west to get a lab puppy and was making other purchases. Needless to say, I won't be doing any more work for him. I don't think we will get paid for that job either. He is 68, so maybe he has mind problems, I don't know. I'm just going to let karma do it's thing, because it seems to follow pretty close.
Well that's good it worked out. Here is my two cents on this. First off always count in front of the customer , maybe it is short by $20 then you can easily say " I'm sorry but this is $20 short". Maybe on the other hand there is an extra $20 in the pile , Now what? You have the opportunity to say " Hey you gave me $20 too much " as you hand it back to them ; this now makes you look like an honest business man. Don't jump to conclusions either. Him telling you the check is in the mail may actually be the truth. I know we all tend to do that these days with the number of iditots out there . Some honest people do still exist. He could have told you to go pound sand and he didn't. Bottom line just cover your azz.
