Good job taking that yote out Biddleman ! My brother in law shot this tall 9pt tonight. Check out those brow tines! He stopped by to show the kids and hang it in the cooler for a few days.
Dang. Big ol northern deer bout fills up the bucket on the tractor. Round here most mature bucks are in the 150-160 range. A few are killed around 200 but that's not the norm.
I use a fixed blade broadhead. He quartering away at at an angle and the arrow did come out the other side. But I think the fletching got caught up. He rolled at the shot and was bouncing off trees. So I think when he rolled the arrow broke. Some real dandy bucks showing up on this thread. Congrats to all!
I don't have a pic yet, but another buddy harvested a black bear over hounds up in Vilas County in September that went 413# gutted! On a state inspected scale. His paws where the size of a grizz.
Seems like there's usually a bear thread? There's been several bears seen around here in the last 2 weeks or so. I'm tempted to buy my bear tag just in case...
I've never really cared for shooting a bear. But a lady got attacked about a month or so over behind my dad's house, got tore up pretty bad. There was a cub involved, and the lady's dog. So bad situation all around. But now I'm thinking we need to shoot more bears if we get the chance. The way it usually goes with me...if I buy the tag, I wont have to worry about getting a bear processed.
Tomorrow's opening day of modern gun here. Hope to post some pictures of a good ern. Got my new to me 35 whelen sighted in. Looking forward to being in the woods and enjoying the solitude.
I’m all sighted in but my son wasn’t. He came out today with his Remington 600 in 308 Win and put three holes in a tad over an inch at 100 yards. Off sand bags. I guess he’s ready now.
