Well, the main floor stove, the P43, has been going since 10/9. I''v used 8.5 bags in it. Five of those had corners (or more) that were hard lumps. I don't know how that occurred - they weren't broke and some of them were from basically the middle of the wrapped pallet).

He's a bit more like himself this morning. Still poking around like an ol man, But at least his ears are up and he's wagging his tail. Still having a hard time jumping up on the couch and bed, So we moved his dog bed so he can sleep near momma at night.

He didn't eat at all the first day. Finally eat some last night. He chowed this mornings breakfast which is more like our puppers!

    Shell season is here.
We have been trying to schedule a shell run.
Monday we did a run...10 barrels....Yesterday the weather was marvelous as well...10 more barrels...

The stock is full to the brim....61 barrels on the slab....And room to snuggle the dumpster back in its hole.

The plant was jumping yesterday....Big rigs bringing in loads of totes from the various orchards.

    Gonna be a great year....

    A few pics
Getting ready to lift the can off the trailer.....Setting the can on the slab.....Li'l Red doing it's job of carrying the full barrels to the barn (Two barrels can fit in the bucket with a ratchet strap around them so they won't fall out....) A shot of the full up....

We will run until we have 10 empties and then plan a haul....
The fairly warm weather these past two days made this task much nicer....
Winter cold and trying to dodge rain/snow sucks...

Honestly never heard of this, But it was sn*wing mini sn*wballs for a bit. Weather geek called it "graupel". I had to google it!

Here at my World Headquarters the 50" screen for the computer started to die back in June

Part of the screen would darken up and then get bright...Then dark again....Then be OK for a while....
Finally a couple weeks ago it tossed in the towel....
Called Best Buy and checked on my extended warranty....Still good....The would replace the TV

This summer I had scored a used 50" at a garage sale for $20....Not perfect...but good...

Dragged that unit out and got it set up until the new set got here..

The new set shows up last Friday and it's broken right out of the box....JUNK...Screen cracked and there are lines in the piccy.

    So they take it back...

The model they sent out has pretty crappy reviews....Plus it will not fit my wall mount....
So today I called them up and asked if I could add a few $$$$ and upgrade to an LG 50"
YESSSSSSSSS....And add a 5 year extended warranty too...

Cost me $179 and the fresh LG will be here the 10th

My old screen was 4 years old and about 25000 hrs.....

The garage sale beast has 38000 hrs of on time....It is an LG 50"

I'm going to be happy getting my screen back up on the wall....

We were in Best buy and I was drooling over the 85" ....Next time the screen in the family room goes away....Gonna do the big boy....
The 85" will work sweet in the family room....25' deep and 15' wide..

We get graupel on a regular basis here. I must admit I never heard it called graupel until several years ago. When I lived in Kansas, we called it "corn snow".

I don't have a wall in my house large enough for that beast, much less a room large enough to make it comfortable to look at. Well, technically, there is one garage wall it would fit on, but ain't sitting out there when it is in the low 30's - LOL.

I fully understand having wall space or room space..

Out family room is 25' long x 15' wide
    A couple pics
From the wall the TV is on looking back to the rear where the stove is...And from the stove looking at the TV The TV there is a 55"
The built in entertainment cabinet was designed for a MUCH smaller TV to fit in the area behind the TV
I added a heavy support (2x12) Across the cabinet to hang a huge plasma TV.
The plasma was a better heater than a TV
We bought the 55" a few years back......
Does not heat the room up in the summer and push the AC nearly as much.

The couch and recliners are plenty far away for an 85"

Above the TV is a pull down screen that we used with a rear mounted projector TV
    That is 100"
Was OK but the projectors use lamps $$$$$$$$$$$$
Plus they are not as good in a room that is not dark...
We went to the plasma...then the LED

Almost as cold as up here! 21ºF up on the hill. Cranked the stove up a notch to get the house back up to 70ºF. Dipped to 68ºF and flannels were officially dug out.

I answered this before, but I have actual real info now. Actually, if I had thought about it, I had info from previous years too.

I started up the basement stove on 10/30/23. When I turned on that stove it was 60* down there, so it ran for a bit to warm everything up. Right now it is only running 3-4 times a day - just enough to keep the temp at 65*.

From 10/28 thru 10/30, my electric usage was 6.5-7.2 kwh (no clothes dryer usage during those days). On 11/1 I started the minisplit in the morning (turning down the P43 set point) and I used 16.6 kw. Yesterday I used 25.5 kwh (it was a bit breezy and the dryer was run which used about 2.5 kwh of that total).

This morning I realized I have usage of the mini split from 22/23 season (when I was jacking up my use to see how much solar to investigate putting in). I didn't turn on the minisplit until December (which shows up on the 1/4/22 line). I did use the P43 for the colder/windier days/nights. And of course, the P61a was going in the basement.

Last heating season I did not use the minisplit at all for heat
