Hello peeps, I hope all of yinz are off to a good start at the beginning of 2023 fall shoulder season! Spent some time cleaning up my processing area to make room for what I collect and keep this winter, had a handful of small cedar logs buried in the mess, so went ahead and processed them into small splits to stuff up in the barn loft for next winter. Been burning fires out of scraps of locust and ash during the cool overnights in the Napoleon 1900p in the kitchen, haven't fired up the living room fireplace yet but might do that tomorrow night as it's to get down in the high 20s. Hope all of you guys and gals are well! Be safe and remember to check your burning appliances over before you start out the season.....
Got down into the 30's for the first time down here in Adams Co last night. Definitely full bore shoulder season. I think we can safely say goodnight to all the insects!
Wish I could get more cedar. What little I get goes in sheds and locations to help keep the mice out. Seems to work well for that.
