I usually take care of all the paperwork Sunday evening but was too tired and then too busy at work to worry about an exact number but it's somewhere in the 80-85 range.
Jrider, still hand loading everything? I'm surprised you haven't come up with a way to use a front end loader or skid steer. For me, the worst part is tossing and stacking the wood in my truck for delivery.
Went over the 100 mark on Sunday. Have taken orders for 13 cords in the last 24 hours. Things are getting busy!
Yes, this time of year my main focus is delivering. I do have to make sure I have enough rounds cut though so my helpers have something to do while I am out on delivery.
As of Sunday, it's 118 cords out the door. After doing some estimations, I'd say I am not even 1/3 of the way through my supply. Sales are still steady but not what they were the last 2 years. Many people are sitting on their leftovers from last year since it was so warm. Quite a few people have cut the size of their orders down from previous years. Figures that would happen the year I have more wood than ever. It's looking likely that I will have seasoned wood to deliver all winter which is both good and bad.
With "leftover" inventory will it mess up the normal cycle of wood production? I take it you dont like delivering in the Winter?
Leftover just takes up space but I suppose it means I could produce less next year? And as much as I enjoy firewood, delivering is my least favorite part of it so I try to get it done as fast as possible. I also hunt and ski so winter has been my so called break from firewood. Also, if it snows and people want wood in the middle of winter, I have to worry about covering my piles and having to plow out to where the piles are. It just eats up time and aggravates me all around lol.
Up to 130 cords out after this weekend with about 20 more on order at the moment. Didn’t take any pictures but I’m finally starting to open up some ground again which is good.
You are moving some major amounts of firewood. Sorry, but don't feel sorry for your troubles. If you were in the Nashville area, you and I could rule the market and have the biggest houses and have Dolly performing in our backyards.
Troubles...what troubles are you speaking of? I do wish I was in a market where I could get your prices but I also have a full time job so I am limited to weekends for delivery in non summer months.
Lots of kindling laying on the ground, do you do anything with it? How come so many small pieces? Just a matter of conversation not trying to be a Richard.
