Rained out of work today. 47/33 1st morning reload off of overnight coals of the year

 

30F @ 8AM

Today will be the day. Fire will be had. Indoors!

 

58/71 here, no fire. With a low of 56 expected, might not need one if we retain the heat from yesterdays 80.

 

First fire yesterday evening/overnight.

 

Have to love the first fire of the year!
-16c/3f here right now under a clear sky. I fell asleep last night and missed my reload time so the furnace is doing the heavy lifting while I finish my coffee. Ill have the stove lit within the hour with the usual doug fir or larch.

 

8 below this morning. I've been burning since September, but this will be the first time I built a fire in the sauna this year.

 

Today's raw 48 & raining is a welcome relief to yesterday's 80 and sunny. Go figure, if it was late April I'd be saying that the other way around The stove's been idle for a few days but Tuesday morning looks promising for a fire.

 

Currently 12 F at the casa. Got 14” of snow so far from this storm and still coming down. I’ve been plowing and shoveling snow all day.

Currently burning Aspen, Doug Fir and some random Hackberry that I dug out of a shoulder season stack.

73 degrees in the house.

23 late this morning. 30 now; 66 inside and the sun is actually out!!!! Snow will be had this evening.

Ha ha!! I grew up going there! It’s amazing now. You have to get on a waiting list to get in now. But it’s totally redone. The food is good, but the entertainment is great. We spent about 3 hours there recently.

 

not to cold here, but we in for a lot of rain this week.

 

Lol I grew up about 2.5 hours from there and we'd always go there on vacation when I was a kid. Been 35 years since I've been there. It was definitely a cool place when I was young.

 

We're sitting at 30 degrees today, 75 inside. Burning honey locust.

 

I'm finally gonna have a fire. 66 inside but temp's in the 20's for the next few days. I'll have a small fire tonight just to keep the chill off and see what tomorrow brings.
