I've had my new 562XP from HL supply for over a month now behind my truck seat. Dulled the chain on the 350 today and pulled it out. I was at 7400 feet elevation, very low humidity and 60 degrees. First 1/2 of the tank, it ran very blubbery ( 'loaded up' if you know 2 stroke motorcycles) in the middle of the power. Clean on the low end and clean on top, just fat/blubbery on the low end. By the end of the tank, it started to clear up with occasional times of it acting rich.

Anyone else experience this? How quickly is the computer supposed to tune itself? I started it, let it idle for a few minutes, blipped the trigger a few times and then eased into cutting (trying to avoid full throttle). But 3/4- full throttle is where it ran cleanest.

Try the field reset procedure. The cut under load must be continuous until the computer sorts itself out.

Simon's got it. It needs a good whiff of your air to figure out how it should run. I recommended one of these saws to a buddy a few years back (1 saw plan) and he still thanks me occasionally for it.

I had trouble with mine when I first got it I don’t use the compression release button, and as advised by the shop, use the choke and the first sign of it firing up, turn the choke off, and pull again. Has worked well that way.

unlike other saws where you may run it a bit on choke, with my 572, when I hear it “hit”, I turn off the choke and pull again. Usually goes then. If it doesn’t, I do something else for around forty five minutes.

Follow the info in the video^. Some say it only takes 10–15 seconds but that is incorrect. The method they use in that video is spot on.. Some saws won’t start to tune themselves until 90 seconds or so into the cut. Bury about 8 inches of the bar in a long log on about a 45° angle down the length of it until you hear it make several adjustments and start running properly.

Elevation makes a saw run rich. Be careful the next time you cut at low elevation as the saw will then be lean for a few minutes until it has time to adjust. I wouldn’t recommend that long tuning cut in a log instantly after coming down from elevation. In that case I would take it easy on the saw and do my best to let it tune itself

I researched this more and surprisingly there is nothing in the manual pertaining to the first start procedure in new elevation/air temp/etc.

First, let saw idle for 5.5 minutes. Supposedly this calculates the proper setting for idle/low speed. Run for at least 90 seconds a rip cut under load on a 4-5 foot log wide open. The autotune will get the setting on the high speed. From here, it supposedly makes minor adjustments in real time. You would think the dealer OR Husqvarna manual would mention these items.

On the positive side, a 350 vs. 562 is a massive power difference. Looking forward to increased efficiency. Just picked up a 365 Special I'm looking forward to running too.

Thank you huskihl. I just wish Husqvarna had provided documentation in their start-up procedure in the manual. You always read about not running things wide open when new, it was kind of contrary to my thinking.

Btw, I've picked up a 346XP, 365 Special, and another 350, my hoarding is becoming an addiction haha. 372 and 395 are on my list for finding reasonably priced hopefully.

Sounds like it's safest to re-tune it at my house elevation (5600) feet to get it close and then just use at higher elevation.

Sounds like fuel adjustment screws would be much easier and faster. You kids gotta have your fancy electronics tho. :picard::rofl: :rofl:

The screws are pretty easy but the auto tune stuff really rips when its working correctly.
