We still have our A/C on! LOL It was 75° in the house and the other half was complaining it was too warm, so on went the A/C. The electric bill is not one that I pay any part of, so I don't care. :)

LOL! Ironically, we aren’t big sports people…don’t watch that much TV either.

Flags are just some fun things we put out their. Years ago, one of the neighbor’s kids asked if our yard was a mini golf course. HA!

Still on the low 90's here during the day. Counting down till I can build a fire in the stove.

Still in the mid 80's in the afternoon, but getting down to the upper 40's at night. We have the windows open at night and the AM and the AC on during the afternoon.

The boiler is all cleaned out and back on DHW duty for the season. We probably won't need to turn on the heater side of the system for several more weeks.

Its tempting to light up the fireview. It rained today and is down to 45 but I'm holding out.

Always exciting to get started. Then around mid March I’m hoping for better weather and shutting down. Gotta love it.

Burning all the stink bugs out of the stove pipe and dust off the fireview. 39 outside, I'm going to open the windows and air out the house later.

46 and raining hard here right now. 1st fire last year was november 2nd, that is generally consistent from year to year.

Fired up the main floor pellet stove last night. If we would get some sun during the day, the house would heat up enough that I would stay with the mini split. But, sun has been elusive since June and the pattern is holding at least for another couple of days, so I decided that wood heat is the way to handle the cooler nights right now.

Woke up to 37 this morning with a cold rain beating down (occasional wet snow too). 25-35 mph NW wind pushing it right along. Time for the first fire of the fall season (shorts & uglies). Last year first fire was Nov 2nd. Here we go............

First thing I was reminded of was either TIG welding aluminum or a titanium fire

It just occurred to me that I get an equal amount of satisfaction out of having the first fire of the year as I do the last. I can't think of anything else in my life that I feel the same way about.
