Some of you may already know but this past summer we lost both of our older dogs. They were my woodpile buddies and spent hrs out there with me. Most of the time either stealing splits to chew on or standing behind me while bucking logs and getting covered in sawdust. Our new pup Hazel has had some big paws to fill and so far she's doing a great job! She's right there with me every step I take. She's a split thief just like the other two were! Today she helped me move a few loads into the shed so it's dry to stack during tomorrow's rain.
Very cool! Hope y'all have a long and great relationship. They can never replace but they all definitely make them selfs part of the family. The black and white was my girl, Silver. She was my shadow, unfortunately we lost her young do to some unfixable health issues. That's Korbel, silvers "replacement" She has a lot of the same personality traits, the misses calls her my little soiled brat as she only pays attention to me and don't listen to the misses all to well...
She’s been there next to me since I got home today…. you never realize how much they become a part of you.
Dogs are wonderful companions and the best woodpile inspectors. Ours will sit facing the other way and watch behind us as we work. He also catches the occasional woodchuck that takes up residence under the wood.
Nice! I try to actually stay away from the dog threads, many I have read but the content can be difficult to swallow sometimes. For us that are dog owners you know what I am talking about. You can't replace what you had but you can fill the void. Hug your dogs tonight gang! Nuff said !
Congratulations on your new companion! Just found out yesterday that my 13 year old buddy has a mass on his lung. Can't keep my mind on the job today.
Redneckchevy silver was a beautiful girl! Korbel sounds alot like hazel in the fact that she really only listens to me. I barely even complete her name and she comes running. The mrs and the kids, well....... not so much . jrider thanks Joe. She's loving life for sure. Room to run wherever she wants and plenty of critters to chase haha. Mike Beverley great pics of your aussies! Screwloose so sorry to hear about your buddy. FarmerJ glad to hear your home and hopefully on the mend!
Nice pup. My old red heeler was always right with me. The young blue heeler thinks she wants to bite the chain so she doesn't come out of the back yard until I split and stack. She's a wood thief to.
Nagigational services, lol. Mine thinks he can drive! I go into a store and when I come out he is sitting in the driver's seat like he owns the place.
