    P/V test will tell you if there's a leak and will definitely save you some trouble in the long run .

    What year do you think it was manufactured? I look at OPE from yesteryear and often wonder that.

    Here's the carb cover. If these numbers are correct it would be a 1990 (the way I read it anyway). But I think the last year for this model was 1980.
