As the world is swirling down the toilet I'm thinking about security systems. What one I have no clue. I'd like cameras, to be able to check it from my phone I dunno. This will be a house with detached garage and My shop in the next town. Really wish I didn't have to consider this. As always thanks in advance Keith
We have had simply safe for several years and recently upgraded to their newest system as ours was starting to have issues. Anyway, its all wireless for all the sensors and the outside cameras. They use either rechargeable battery packs or long life lithium batteries that you can buy at a store. We had most of our original sensors never needing a new battery in 7-8 years. The system is very easy to self install and set up. There are no wires to run and holes to drill. No contract if you choose to be monitored. The base station / brain is plugged into an outlet but has an internal battery backup so your alarm is still functional in a power outage. What else..... Oh, The indoor cameras are plug in. They have everything from entry sensors for doors and windows, glass breakage sensors, sensors for temp in the house to alert you if it drops below a certain temp and your pipes could freeze, water leak sensors ect. I highly recommend their system.
WiFi is needed for the cameras if thats something you don't have or if the power is out your WiFi is too. Anyone without a generator will loose that but, the main alarm is still alive and well if power is out. It also uses two ways to alert the monitoring center. Internet and / or cell phone tower. A line cannot be cut to stop it from calling out.
This is my current system with cameras as well. On a serious note we have tossed the idea around ourselves. The only thing with wireless is what happens if the internet/wifi goes down. Will they still work?
Personally,I would never put cameras in or by my house, that's does the FBI and CIA job for them. 1984 anyone? Just my 2cents. Guns are security at our home
Mine are live stream only. We self monitor the cameras. They aren't capturing video at the monitoring place because I'm not paying for that.
