Lol. 6.5 pounds and all magnesium except the pull start cover and original air filter cover. I put a velocity stack on it to mount that filter. Both pieces are from a 1/5 scale rc car. 1976 was the last year they were made. I managed to get one still in the box, made in 76, a couple years ago. Its in a display case.

I don't mind BBR. I enjoy watching the older Ford trucks still out there earning their keep.

I don't see me donating any chainsaws anytime soon though.

Ripsaw is located in Johnstown PA, just a short drive from me. BBR was just here a few weeks ago in J-town, yes they are most definitely sponsoring his channel (and I believe they are sponsoring it HARD) because BBR went from not really liking Stihl (and most other really modern saws) at all to really liking the fuelie 500I. At any rate, the man makes his living on his videos and iff'n they're paying him he's gonna brag them up. I've heard less than favorable reviews of their work, and they are very pricey, I personally haven't run any of their stuff but I can tell you there's fellas on here that I DO own saws they modded and I can tell you they are first-class men that stand 100% behind their work. huskihl is one of those guys. He's done quite a few saws for me and all have been top-notch performers. His XS 2511T is the cream of the crop for climbing saws. It's my go-to saw in the tree.....

I think he's a genuinely good guy, he's definitely eclectic to say the least, I wouldn't say he's in love with himself but he's definitely in love with his youtube. I enjoy watching some of his stuff but I'm not donating to anyone's superchat (or whatever that crap is) and I'm not giving any saws away to someone who already has 600 saws........lol

He's making his living on YouTube and he's out for hits on his content, some of his content is enjoyable, some is boring AF. But I do think he's a good guy.

Haven't had the chance to meet him yet but after dealing with him on a couple saws and talking to him on the phone it's easy to tell he's a straight shooter. He will definitely be getting more saws from me. I'm on the list now. . I look forward to meeting lots of folks on here in the future.

Only porter I'll use now. He's done 4 of mine and my 5th is on his wait list. None better in my experience.

He was cool a couple years ago, just slightly annoying at times. Haven't watched him lately but after reading this thread, sounds like he sold out.

Ya some of the stuff you guys are talking about is pretty annoying! You'd be amazed how many west coast guys cut 16-22 inch firewood with a 32 inch bar, and/or put huge mutant falling dogs on 60 cc saws. Was never this way before the advent of you tube. Yes long bars have their place( ie professional timber faller or cutting up huge trees for firewood). I kinda like the BBR stuff on old saws and old ford trucks, but his video are long winded. I won't name any specific saw builders, but I believe most of them that end up with crosshairs on their back are victims of their own success. They took on to much work and couldn't keep up, and started cutting corners.

There's about 271.330 hours of video uploaded to YouTube daily
I wouldn't waste a second watching chainsaw influencers.
There's a lengthy thread on ope about ripsaw
And I have read several unhappy ripsaw customers on Facebook and the forum's.
For example one guy's 201t wouldn't even run and another guy tore his sàw down to find nothing but a flywheel key advance for his 600.00 port job.
They farm out the saws for porting the last I heard and you never know what you'll get some are good to go some not Screenshot_2023-10-16-09-05-51-793.jpg

All they charge 800+ for port work now
How could you ever recoup the money.
I can sell my saws that cost 250-350.00 to be ported all day long
To each their own but I've sent many 40-300.00 saws and had them ported by known porter's who stand behind their work.
    and couldn't be happier
I have far too many ported saws to need anymore but eventually I'll sell one to get a 262 ported as my old man saw.

I am starting to be an old man and I love my ported 262. But also enjoy running 572 , 395 ,and 298 just don't run them as long as I once did
