Took a dead elm down on on the back side of our fence today. It's right in the center of the picture. There's an ash right behind it so it's a little hard to see. To the left of the one I dropped today is a large dead elm that I've got a tree service scheduled to drop next week. I'll buck it up and get rid of the branches myself. The one I cut today died just this past year and wasn't too large. I dropped it right where I wanted it...mainly not on the neighbor's garage! Took a couple pictures of my little haul. Not a lot, but it all adds up. Loaded and ready to go to my processing site. I will see you in 2016 Mr. Elm.
Nice work Schlot. Better taking a dead one down than to have it come down in some wind or a storm. That large elm will make for some good stacks.
Thanks.... yes it will really make a big increase in my stacks. Glad I have hydraulics waiting to be used for that girl!
Nice work in the backyard schlot. Looks like you may have a 1/2 cord or so of firewood coming your way once the elm is down.
The tree service called and will be here tomorrow to drop the big elm. It's way beyond what I can handle but they will just be dropping it. I'm limbing and bucking it for splitting. Looks like my weekend is spoken for! I had to move part of the fence and put up a temporary one to keep the dogs in. Too dark for pictures, but I will take some tomorrow.
