I liked what I saw(ed) so I took a photo. Still like looking at it.

Kindof a delicacy for my stove. Loggers absolutely gutted most all of it back in the early 80s when the price was sky high. Not many knew about good harvest practices back then.

I heard some chainsaws going yesterday on my block, so I went investigate. They were planning on putting the whole tree thru the chipper, but I salvaged these beauties. The tree guys said it's hickory. Can anyone confirm? 4CC539C4-8FD5-40C5-BBF0-AF7D7F95A89E.jpeg 81C8A081-39F9-421C-A7DE-FBF07A1E8C7D.jpeg

Some folks like beaches, others mountains. That view right there is very satisfying

Enjoying looking at everybody's pics on here. Good looking rounds everyone! Those hickory rounds look tasty. Here a few of mine. Probably going to split up some of this cedar I cut down at my moms place last year, for some auxillary kindling this year, since I haven't found enough of my usual scrap kiln dried 2x4s lately. Might not be dry enough though since iss been sitting in round form. Shoulda split it last year.

It dries rather quick. Split and store indoors by the furnace/stove etc and it smells great,
