Went back to the locust score today. As jrider said in the other post probably more trouble than it’s worth. He wasnt wrong but the old stubbornness comes out. What a mess. The big one. Over 40 feet. Had to leave the top log there plus some other short logs. I needed to winch this one out in a 30’ piece. Tougher on the equipment but easier on the human. Cut off every ten feet as it gets to the trailer and load. Made partial cuts before moving. Looks like more wood left there than when I started LOL. The branches hid everything. Somebody else can have it. I’m done
Kinda reminds me of what ill go through for BL at a roadside scrounge. Way to be persistent Joe. How much BL left? Mebbe ill consider a road trip.
It was nice to go back and get it done. Brad there’s at least a truckload left if you’re really interested. That’s a heck of a cruise for you. A lot of smaller stuff hidden by branches here there and all over that property. I’ll hook ya up with the owner if ya want. And my BL stacks have all turned three this year. Should be high on the menu this winter.
Ill keep it in mind. How desperate is he to get it out of there? From the looks of things i should be able to "easily" retrieve the BL remnants, no? Will you process and stack this BL along with the pile sitting in the wood yard.
IMO there’s not much left of easily retrievable BL on site. It’s covered with branches. Have to cut your way into it to get it out. The few log remnants I left you’d have to schlep over branches. There is one trunk on top of that wall not too hard to get to. I didn’t bother with it. Not sure of his exact plans but he said he wouldn’t get a chipper for 2-3 weeks. It’s a timeframe he gave me. Who knows, maybe you could get hired to chip and cut that place clean. Don’t think you really want that job tho. Lots of wood to go to a dump.
